Specify the shelf usage system. Different warehouses, different goods, and the shelves in each warehouse have different ways of using them. Warehouse managers must formulate a shelf usage system and let every shelf user learn and abide by it. This is the way to achieve the goal.

Everyone knows that any product has a use period. If it is continued to be used beyond this limit, it will easily cause various problems, and even endanger personal safety.

Storage shelves are generally made of metal, which have a certain load-bearing strength and can withstand the pressure of goods. They are often used to load goods in layers. If used and maintained improperly, the shelves will be damaged and their lifespan will be shortened, causing major safety accidents. However, there are various factors that affect the service life of shelves, such as temperature, humidity, lighting, ventilation conditions, etc. in the warehouse. This requires warehousing personnel to maintain the shelves in daily use, thereby extending the service life of the shelves, reducing safety hazards, and reducing warehousing operation costs.

(1) Equip a set of anti-collision pillars according to different shelves, aisle widths and transportation tools. Install anti-collision guardrails at the passage.

(2) Avoid excessive sunlight exposure, ventilate the shelves reasonably, prevent wet goods from being placed on the shelves, and try to drain and dehumidify them as much as possible.

(3) Apply protective paint regularly to reduce rust, do daily inspections, and fix any loose screws in time, provide timely ventilation, and keep the warehouse from being excessively humid.

(4) Heavy-duty and high-rise rack warehouses must be equipped with power push trucks. The use and operation of push trucks must only be operated by certified personnel. The vast majority of warehouse rack columns that are hit and deformed are caused by the use of push trucks by non-designated personnel.

(5) Specify the shelf usage system. Different warehouses, different goods, and the shelves in each warehouse have different ways of using them. Warehouse managers must formulate a shelf usage system and let every shelf user learn and abide by it. This is the way to achieve the goal.

(6) The weight of the goods placed on the shelf must be within the load-bearing capacity of the shelf. Warehouse clerks mark the load-bearing limit on the shelves. We must follow the principle of placing heavy items on the bottom and light items on the top of the shelf, that is, put heavy items on the bottom and light items on the top.
